What Can BankRuptcy Do for You?

What is bankruptcy?

Bankruptcy is a Federal Court process which legally declares a person unable to pay their debts. There are two main types of bankruptcy, Chapter 7-debt relief and Chapter 13-reorganization. At Sopinski Law Office, we'll help you decide which type is best for your situation.

What are the benefits?

In Chapter 7 bankruptcy you can get rid of the majority of your monthly payments. In Chapter 13 bankruptcy your monthly payments will be as low as $100 per month. Oftentimes bankruptcy can help you restore credit quickly. We will discuss with you any potential drawbacks based on your individual situation.

Where do I begin?

To begin the bankruptcy process you must first gather paperwork. We need you to bring the following to your consultation: 7 months of bank statements; 7 months of pay stubs from all employers; 7 months of self-employed profit-and-loss statements; Tax returns from the past two to four years; and A copy of each of your current bills
